Workday is simple to use and very intuitive. It made training new employees simple and they were able to be caught up quickly. I don't have much bad to say about this product, as it definitely made our day-to-day operations more smooth and easier to swallow. I am happy to endorse it for any company that could use it.
  • Good support
  • Easy scheduling
  • Ease of use
  • Risk of cyber attacks
  • Outdated interface in certain areas in my opinion.
  • Search function leaves some to be desired.
I like having all of my information (benefits, compensation, profile) in one place that I can access easily. It helps a lot when new employees come and training is required. I always am able to find what I am looking for, as long as I am sure what that is. It also helps generate analytics and is able to assess how our employee profile is as a whole.

I use workday in order to keep track of vacation/PTO time and the hours I worked. It's sort of like a timesheet, mainly used to track time and tasks done at my job.
  • Great at tracking vacation and PTO.
  • Great at easily accessing tax documents.
  • Great at tracking time.
  • None really. It's pretty easy to use.
We use it primarily to track time for finance. As a developer, what I do is track the hours I worked the amount of time I spent on each task, and what I did during that time in the notes section. It also serves as a pretty good reminder of things you need to do whenever you log on.

Workday Professional Services Automation addresses our problem for remote access, scheduling time, and being able to download tax forms. Employees in this new world of work are looking for the flexibility of being remote or hybrid, which means not going into the office to punch in and out or speak with HR to get their tax forms.
  • Easy to navigate
  • Great, visual UI
  • Works on mobile
  • Log in is clunky when you have to do it multiple times a day
  • Incompatible with other systems
  • Ability to customize
If you are a company with very little administrative or IT staff that can be dedicated to run, train, and launch - this is the perfect tool for you because it requires very little on the set up end and training. It looks like a social network so a platform many are already used to seeing. Its definitely a very powerful product with an easy interface, providing a stellar customer experience.

Effective business solution with excellent workflow approval and valuable platform for easy business operations and product development platform. The easy-on data analytics in real-time via Workday Professional Services Automation is beneficial and very reliable project management software. The project planning and budgeting and even resource planning of the product are highly recommendable.
  • Task management capability.
  • Activity tracking functionalities.
  • Data visualization tools are powerful.
  • Deployment is not that easy to some non-technical users.
  • Creating reports for multiple processes.
  • Deep configuration of the functionalities.
Best and powerful access control management ability and the functions for reports creation are excellent and the overall management quality with Workday Professional Services Automation is incredible. The collaboration strategy and the effective team communication through this software are amazing and very easy scheduling and data management platform with an easy and simple dashboard to configure.

It is the heart of our Human Capital Management. It provides complete automation for all processes from search and selection to onboarding. It also provides Leave of Absence, performance management, benefits management, and all day-to-day employee operations so that they can be managed with excellence. Especially during pandemic circumstances, paperless processes and automated workflows helped a lot during an onboarding period.

  • Benefits management
  • Onboarding
  • User interface
  • Mobile application
  • Ergonomy
It gives us very useful insights about average salary statement employee reports in order to understand where you are in the market and your peers. Excellent paperless onboarding processes helped a lot during the pandemic. Payslips integration facilitates many financial requests between HR and many other authorities like tax government office or financial institutions.

We currently use it to manage my benefits and we currently use it as an HR Hub. We use Workday to manage time off, elect benefits, view pay stubs and other various HR functions.
  • Ease of use
  • Great user experience
  • Good security functions
  • The announcement section is less than exciting.
I like Workday as an all-encompassing place to manage HR tasks and functions. It's easy to use and navigate around.

Workday is used to automate onboarding documentation, people management documentation and employment verification information. Workday houses our employee personnel files. All team members have full access their documents, status or requests from the supervisors, etc. It also holds all payroll information, benefits, etc.
  • Quick visibility to archived employee documents
  • Quick access to paystubs
  • Ability to easily update contact information
  • Mobile application interface is still a bit week; crashes often
  • Would love to see more personalization options
Automation is well suited for the needs of the organization.

Expansive online HR and payroll platform. Currently used to process payroll including salary changes and additional compensation, manage employee info, onboarding (completing new employee forms), generating employee/payroll related reports, time and absence tracking (clocking in and out, requesting time off, etc.), and tangentially used in relation to benefits and performance review.
  • Smooth hiring process
  • Easy to update employee salary/add additional comp info
  • Generates reports quickly
  • System has quirks when an employee is terminated then rehired within a short span of time
  • Sometimes system doesn’t delegate tasks to correct departments/person for approval
  • Time management/absence tracking system is not intuitive and can be confusing
This is well suited for large companies, especially higher education. It’s also well suited if you plan on using its various add-ons for an extensive user platform. This system would be less appropriate if you’re a small company looking for just very basic features; wouldn’t be worth it.

My organization currently uses Workday for most of our Human Resource related functions. It houses all of our personal employee information related to our roles. The most important aspect of Workday currently for our company is in relation to our internal review process, as well as goal setting and assessment.
  • all-in one platform
  • integrations
  • Automations
  • User interface
  • difficult to make edits and changes
  • Feels outdated
Workday is a solid tool depending on what your organization needs it for. For our particular use case it does the job, but I have found it frustrating to use as an individual over the years. It's not easy to make edits or changes and the interface isn't the best. Again, I can only speak to it from a review/goal management and assessment standpoint.

We primarily use Workday as an HRIS. For me specifically, I primarily use it to request time off work and view my vacation time balances. I'm able to send my requests to management and see when they approve the request. The main problem that it addresses is visibility into PTO and Sick time so I can see my balance and request the time needed.
  • Simple to request PTO
  • Visibility on approval of PTO
  • Calendar to view all time off (i.e. Holidays, Vacation, Sick, Volunteer)
  • Would like to be able to use it for clocking in and out
  • The dashboard user interface could be improved to include more pertinent information
  • Would be nice to hide features that we use other applications for (i.e. org chart, pay, expenses)
I enjoy using Workday but we use multiple other applications (ADP, Anaplan, Chrome River) for features that Workday also is able to help with. If we used more of the features in Workday I would recommend it higher. Overall very satisfied with the features we use it for to see visibility into PTO but could be used for a lot more.

We have transitioned to using it as our HRIS- timekeeping, corrective action, performance, and goal setting, and are looking to add more capabilities in the future. This was to replace PeopleSoft which was outdated and a little clunky with a dated interface and several different sites whereas on workday we just have a central location for everything.
  • UI is slick and user friendly.
  • Love the auto fill feature when searching.
  • Everything is in one place.
  • We are currently dealing with a glitch that is filling our inboxes with notifications not related to us.
Our issues have more to do with implementation than the service itself I think, but the bugs are taking longer than I would have expected to iron out. Further, the transition of information has also not been as quick causing us to use multiple systems to retrieve historical data. Other than that I think it’s a great option for businesses that want a one-stop-shop.

I use Workday Professional Services Automation to update candidate and employee information. I use it for mostly applications and employee informational data. The problems of paper files being used is solved through using the software as a way to store information regarding pay, applications, and data.
  • Store information
  • Change and update information for end-user
  • Review applications and benefits
  • Allowing candidate to review job posting after it has expired.
Very updated and easy to use for both a professional in Human Resources as well as employees. Workday has a great layout and it is easy to track the type of information you need.

I have had multiple experiences with using the Workday Professional Services Automation software; as a consultant, in a large Fortune 500 company, and most recently when the small FinTech company I was working for was acquired by Nuveen/TIAA. The software was used as a one-stop-shop at Nuveen/TIAA for all things HR-related: payroll, benefits administration, recruiting, performance evaluation processing, etc. Workday is a powerful tool that is a good fit for large, multi-national corporations. In my opinion, it is a more technologically advanced/flexible version of the Oracle suite I utilized in roles 10+ years ago.
  • One system to cover all HR needs
  • Multi-user database with permission control
  • Intuitive interface for end-user
  • Ability to customize to non-standard/one-off processes
  • One size fits "most situations" solution
  • Difficult to rollout across organization - great once fully implemented
Workday Professional Services Automation is a great product for large companies that have standardized, repetitive processes. The ability to automate tactical HR tasks is essential for business productivity, and Workday Professional Services Automation delivers well in this area. However, when a non-standardized process occurs, it is difficult to modify the system in a way that doesn't create confusion for the end-user, resulting in a less than desirable HR experience. For example, when my small company was acquired, our parent business utilized the software for transferring employees from the acquired business to the parent business to ensure they could sign up for health benefits, payroll, etc on Day 1; but, because every form is interrelated, the in-house Workday team was either unable or unwilling to change their workday "standard" fields for offer letters. As VP of HR for the acquired team, I had to meet one-off with each acquired employee to reassure them that certain clauses in the standard offer letter would not apply, explain why their personal email addresses were being used instead of their business ones, and assure them that they were being fully vested/transferred employees and were not considered "new employees" like the offer letter stated, etc.

Workday Professional Services Automation provides many features in one tool, like work hours tracking against different projects, expense tracking and approval process for expenses, and leave approval and leave balance feature. It also helps with the cost and client chargeability. Overall this is one place to manage many work-related items, including new hiring as well.
  • Hours tracking
  • Project billability
  • Team management
  • Auto fill time report
  • Better search
  • User interface can be improved
Workday Professional Services Automation is a great tool for team management and time tracking. It allows reporting time across different projects. It also helps with new job positions, hiring, and referral program. And expense approval flow is useful as well. Overall it's great to manage a team and anything work-related items. There are so many features covered, like goals and performance management. Generating reports and exporting data are good add-on features.

Workday is used company-wide at our organization. Every employee is managed in the Workday system. It is a fantastic platform for managing employee pay, benefits, and professional relationships. Workday makes it easy for employees to access their "human resources" in a self-serve manner. This is a great time-save by cutting down on simple communications between employees and their managers/HR.
  • Consolidated data resource. Allows Workday to be the authority for pay and benefits.
  • Advanced automation for administrators.
  • Self-serve for employees. Allows users to self manage their information.
  • At times the user interface feels clunky and slow.
  • Organization of the web application feels unintuitive. Can often be hard to find what you're looking for.
  • Honestly, not much else! It's a solid platform.
Workday is perfect for medium to large enterprise businesses looking to manage their human elements. It offers advanced reporting and automation for users at the admin level. It also gives users at the employee-level strong self-serve resources. Workday would be less suited to small businesses looking to manage their employee resources.
